The funding guidelines of the MAHLE FOUNDATION The business of the firm MAHLE-STIFTUNG GmbH is associated exclusively with charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 52 of the German Tax Code within the context of the corporate purposes set out in its Articles of Association. For their implementation, the two founders of the company – Hermann and Dr. Ernst Mahle – drew up guidelines which today still form the basis for the actions of the Foundation.
Basic rules
Only non-profit institutions receive funding. MAHLE FOUNDATION GmbH does not grant any scholarships or financial support to individuals. Since the level of the funding available to us depends on the annual economic development of the MAHLE Group, support is only ever granted for a period of one year. Therefore, for projects lasting more than one year, a new application must be submitted every year.
The main organisations which receive funding support are those which work in the spheres of activity and research fields of applied anthroposophy. The fields which are supported comprise:
- Education and upbringing
- Health and nursing
- Agriculture and food
- Art and culture
- Science and research
The financial support is not limited to German institutions. However, institutions from abroad require a non-profit organisation in Germany which is prepared to forward any funding made available.
The projects to which the applications relate should run for a limited time, be of a forward-looking nature and enable developments.
Further rules
The following are not generally supported:
- the general household
- building projects
MAHLE -STIFTUNG GmbH does not generally support projects as the sole sponsor. Applicants should have their own funds available and/or other financial supporters.
