SOCIAL ACTION - HAVING A LASTING IMPACT - SHAPING THE FUTURE
Each year the MAHLE FOUNDATION supports approximately 150 projects worldwide. In doing so, it works in accordance with the central idea of "Donate today - with the vision for tomorrow": The aim is to enable a better future by supporting innovative projects.
Baroque Orchestra plays together with school classes
Only a few young people have ever attended a classical concert. The Stuttgart baroque orchestra Il Gusto Barocco has therefore developed a new approach to the teaching of music.
From the grower to the baker
The breeding carried out by large seed companies is primarily focused on producing high yields and often makes use of genetic engineering resources. In order to obtain and strengthen GMO-free alternatives and produce the highest possible food quality for humans, a biodynamic seed breeding programme is important.
THE MAHLE GROUP: One of the world's leading automotive suppliers
The work of the MAHLE FOUNDATION is made possible by the economic success of the MAHLE Group, whose founders Hermann and Dr. Ernst Mahle transferred their company shares in 1964 to the non-profit Foundation. Since then, the combination of economic success and social responsibility has shaped the work of the Group and Foundation.

Commitment to good educational opportunities worldwide
The WOW Day - Waldorf One World, a project of Freunde der Erziehungskunst Rudolf Steiners e.V. ("Friends of Rudolf Steiner Education Association"), is now a world-wide campaign of the Waldorf schools. On this day, Waldorf pupils from around the world become involved with fundraising activities to support Waldorf initiatives. Here, the pupils' creativity knows no bounds.
Child health today
The "Children's Health Today" congress, which was held for the first time in Stuttgart on September 27 and 28, 2014, focuses on the interplay between upbringing, lifestyle and family structures: doctors, therapists, educators and parents discuss what children and young people need today and how they can be supported in a meaningful way.
The MAHLE FOUNDATION and Anthroposophy
Appreciation and a sense of responsibility towards people, the environment and nature - these leitmotifs of anthroposophical thinking and action also represent the basis for the work of the MAHLE FOUNDATION. The aim is to further the implementation of forward-looking new ideas and projects in order to achieve sustainable social progress.
The history of MAHLE-STIFTUNG
Inspired by the lectures of the anthroposophist Rudolf Steiner on social, economic and societal issues concerning the handling and use of capital, Hermann and Dr. Ernst Mahle decided in 1964 to transfer their shares in the three MAHLE companies that existed at the time to a non-profit-making foundation. MAHLE GmbH, in which the three companies were finally brought together, has since then been 99.9 per cent owned by the non-profit firm MAHLE FOUNDATION GmbH. One aim of the foundation's establishment was to remove the ownership of the company from the process of succession. Continuity in the company's management was to be guaranteed in order to promote the economically stable development of the company worldwide. Moderate but at the same stable profit distribution to the MAHLE FOUNDATION was aimed at providing the company with the opportunity to receive significant investments and further growth. At the same time, sustainable project work of the Foundation was to be secured.
